In close collaboration with trusted industrial partner, universities and in-house institutes, the AO Foundation constantly develops new operation techniques, implant, instruments and clinical solutions under the medical guidance of independent surgeons. The AO is the leading innovator in the surgical treatment of bone fractures and disorders. Innovation at the AO goes from bench to bedside, including basic research and innovation, product development, and clinical validation. The AO Innovation Translation Center (AO ITC) streamlines and drives innovation projects. As part of the AO ITC, together with Clinical Science, Clinical Operations is the AO's clinical research projects. The AO Technical Commission (AO TC) is an integral part of the AO ITC and consists of three specialty Technical Commissions, various Global Expert Committees, Expert Groups, and Task Forces in which around 120 outstanding surgeons across the world work together with engineers to solve the most pressing clinical problems. Those medical-technical committees are responsible for the development and clinical testing of new devices and for supporting their educational concepts.

To master this role you have

•    in-depth experience in product/marketing project management and an excellent knowledge of complex procedures
•    a background in either medical science, engineering, marketing or product development 
•    documented expertise and/or work experience in the field of health care, medical technology, orthopedics, trauma and/or spine surgery
•    the aptitude for continuous learning and expansion of your skills base 
•    excellent communications skills, professionalism in appearance and demeanor, superb planning and organizational skills and the ability to negotiate effectively 
•    willingness to travel (worldwide) and occasional weekend working 
•    a proactive, result- and service-oriented personality
•    perfect English language skills (written and oral) are mandatory, and German skills are a plus

In this role you are required to

•    manage several committees of medical experts and their projects, which focus on innovative surgical solutions 
•    ensure streamlined, efficient communication and collaboration between this global network of surgeons, researchers, industrial engineers, and marketing representatives in the exciting area of medical technology development
•    be responsible for the entire development lifecycle of projects, from early-stage concepts for new solutions to organizing prototype testing labs and liaising with relevant stakeholders at the time of product launch
•    act as an interface with other AO units in preclinical and clinical research and education
•    manage both online and offline project-related external communications, such as content management of websites, newsletters and brochures, and organizing live stage shows at which the medical experts demonstrate new technology
•    work closely with medical, industrial and other stakeholders in your area of responsibility to prepare, conduct and follow-up Expert Group meetings and ensure accurate documentation of all activities
