Critical Required Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Good command of English (written and oral)
- Ability to work independently, in a structured and organized manner
- Ability to quickly acquire knowledge on a topic to guide authors (and editors) in authorship
- Ability to fully understand and communicate surgical procedures
Required Education:
- Higher education (university) or equivalent degree
Required work experience:
- Project Management
- Experience working in an international environment
- An educational/technical/scientific background is an advantage
Other Requirements:
- MS Office skills, typing skills.
In this role, you will be required to:
Project Management:
- Planning and coordination
- Communication
- Monitoring of the project budget
- Coordination of author selection and project setup
- International travel (20%-30% of workload), often outside of normal working hours
Coordinate, support and guide content development:
- Prepare and conduct content development and review workshops with writers/editors
- Provide authorship support to authors
- Ensure content consistency of material between authors
- Ghostwriting for authors with poor language/writing skills
Web publishing:
- Preparing content for web publication and creating web documents
- Enriching content with appropriate additional sources (AO publications, videos, supporting documents...)
- Extensive testing of the created pages before publication
- Creation of promotional materials for the project launch, as requested by the department
Continuous improvement and presentation of the AO Surgery Reference:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the AO Surgery Reference, e.g., suggesting changes to structure and design, reporting bugs, and testing new developments
- Represent and present the AO Surgery Reference at courses or lectures, at the request of the specialty.
