Department description

As a member of the Application engineering Team in our IT department, provide comprehensive application support for all IT systems related to community development and event management, which are centered around the Salesforce platform, to all our business teams which organize the world-wide educational events for surgeons and the various governance meetings within the AO Foundation.

To master this challenge, you have

  • Ideally a higher education in information technology
  • 3+ years of experience with Salesforce implementation (design, configuration, deployment), experience with APEX coding and a Salesforce Administrator certification are an advantage
  • Experience and certifications/accreditations for other systems of our technology stack are a benefit
  • Agile mindset and in-depth knowledge of IT standards, architectures, methods, and practices
  • Creative, supportive and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and business analysis skills; detail-oriented and able to work independently
  • Experience with complex and comprehensive system integrations
  • Good communication skills in English, German is a plus.


Experience in the following programs is advantageous:

  • Technology stack (only major systems):
  • Salesforce, Fonteva, Pardot, WeDo, Totara
  • Sitecore, Coveo, Kaltura
  • SAP, Kendox, OneStream, Tableau
  • Dell Boomi, Ping

In this role, you will be required to

  • Assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce and all integrated applications, systems and processes
  • Collaborate in projects with our third party vendors and internal customers
  • Handle administrative functions including user account and event management maintenance, reports and dashboards, flows and other routine tasks
  • Run quality management of the solution and system, such as support of the testing processes and monitoring of the system
  • Support our business stakeholders on 2nd and 3rd level issues
  • Data management within Salesforce and the multiple integrated systems, such as Totara, SAP and the Boomi integration platform
